Grammy Awards Nominations for 2019

grammy awards nomination

Award season officially started with the nominations for the Golden Globes yesterday. We are steaming through at full speed, as the Grammy Awards Nominations for 2019 have just been announced. Which artists will win the most prestigious music prize at the beginning of next year?

Grammy Awards 2019

Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara and Zane Lowe just announced the Grammy Awards Nomination. Last year there was a lot of criticism after there were a conservative vote and Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar, the big contenders, but little in rods and very few women were represented.

This year they take a different approach by not nominating five but eight people for the four largest categories (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist). Of course, we have to wait and see what that does for the winner’s list, because at the end that can only be one of course,

Ariana Grande

Well, by the nominees. The biggest snub of this year is Ariana Grande, which was not nominated in the biggest categories, despite her fantastic musical year. We also know a bit about it. The film A Star Is Born – and especially Lady Gaga – scores after yesterday’s Golden Globes, again today, because the beautiful song Shallow from the film has been nominated for the Grammy for Number of the Year and Record of the Year. Chapeau. Also beautiful: Mac Miller was posthumously nominated for Rap Album of the Year for his fantastic album Swimming.
